Welcome to Hawthorn Class
Mrs S Salter (Hawthorn Class) is our Year 3 teacher.
What we will be studying
This term our topics are:
- Stone Age
- Ancient Greeks
- Coasts
Homework in Year 3
- Spellings that are specific to your child will be sent home regularly.
- We encourage children to log on to the Times Table Rockstar (TTRS) site at least twice a week using their login https://ttrockstars.com/login
- Every week Reading Diaries will be checked, but the diary needs to be in school every day. A record of what the children have read needs to be added to the diary daily. We ask that every child reads for at least 10 minutes every day.
- We encourage children to log onto Language Angels on the week that PPA is not taking place to revise previous work. The children have been given class login details which can be found in their Reading Diaries.
Should you have any concerns, please speak either directly to your child’s teacher or you can email the School Office.
PE in Year 3
PE takes place twice a week. We learn one indoor and one outdoor sport for 6 consecutive lessons, then rotate to a different sport. We are currently asking all children to come to school in their PE uniform on their PE days.
Year 3 has PE on Mondays and Fridays.
Please ensure that children can take their earrings out and that their hair is tied back.
Swimming
During the summer term, your child will have swimming lessons at The Pavilions.
The children walk to the Pavilions and we ask you to collect them from the Pavilions at the end of their swimming session. You will receive more details as we approach the summer term.
Outdoor Learning
Learning, where possible, will be enhanced with outdoor activities and we ask that each member of Hawthorn has a coat with them everyday, this is especially important as we head into autumn and winter.
